December has been a busy month preparing for Christmas! We have been very busy with various activities throughout this month. Thank you for your patience in waiting for us to post an update!
This month we have been learning many different Christmas songs both in English and French. Here are some of the songs we have been learning:
This month we have made lots of fun Christmas crafts including a wreath, a stocking and Christmas Trees!
The children really enjoyed making and playing with our scented playdough. We made a red peppermint and a sparkly white peppermint playdough.
We transformed our Dramatic Play Area into a Gingerbread House. The children enjoyed decorating the Christmas Tree, writing Christmas cards and decorating the house!
Last week the children learned how to make Gingerbread cookies. We measured and mixed all the ingredients together. We then let the dough chill in the fridge overnight and then we rolled out the dough and cut out the shapes. Next we baked the cookies and when they were cooled down we decorated them.
On Thursday we built and decorated our gingerbread houses. Thank you to the parents that came in to help! And thank you to everyone who sent in candy to decorate with!
We had a lot of fun on our field trip to the Cumberland Heritage Museum. The children got to see what an old school house looked like. The desks we sat in were over 100 years old! They got to decorate cookies, sit by the fire and enjoy some hot chocolate and tangerines, and do some arts and crafts. The highlight of our trip was going on a wagon ride and singinh Christmas carols and of course meeting Santa and giving him our letters!
The Kindergarten B Team would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and a very Merry Christmas! We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year!
